APUSH: Eugene Debs 1912 Election Ad.

In 1912, one of the wildest elections in American history took place between the Republican, Democratic, Progressive, and Socialist parties. Eugene V. Debs, the socialist party candidate, stood for improved working conditions for factory workers who were barely paid for hours of overtime backbreaking work. He stood for all the people of America, no matter their race, religion, or social standing. Undeniably an underdog in the election, he faced big names such as Teddy Roosevelt, William Taft, and Woodrow Wilson. In the end he received only 6% of the popular vote, losing to the democratic candidate Woodrow Wilson. These Ad's were created for a APUSH simulation of the 1912 election to gauge our classes understanding on the topic. Our idea for a campaign video turned out to be too ambitious, and far to long to qualify as an ad, so I have included both the original ad, and the shortened version for your viewing pleasure!
