A Drive from Westgate to Muriwai Beach in Auckland, New Zealand

It is Sunday morning, one week into spring in Auckland. I am driving under cloudy skies from Westgate, in northwestern Auckland, to Muriwai Beach on the west coast. Before heading back to the office on Monday, I’m taking some time to watch the wild waves of the Tasman Sea on this windy day. The journey starts on Fred Taylor Drive and continues along the Twin Coast Discovery Highway, passing through Kumeū, known for its wineries, and Huapai before turning left onto Muriwai Road. It’s a peaceful morning drive along quiet roads, surrounded by beautiful spring scenery.
