Potawatomi Campground in Kankakee River State Park, Kankakee IL (Walk through video)

I did a drive through video of this campground already but this is a midweek walk through video that gives more detail of the campsites than my drive through video. I mentioned this in the video but the Kankakee River provides excellent fishing for smallmouth and largemouth bass, channel and flathead catfish, as well as rock bass, bluegill, northern pike, walleye as well as other fish. It's also a great river to kayak or canoe in with plenty of places to launch (there are a few dams so make sure you keep a safe distance but if you paddle upstream and float back to where you launched you eliminate that concern). If you don't own your own canoe or kayak or prefer to rent them once here, Reeds Canoe Trips is a great local company that rents canoes and offers 3 different trips where they drop you off in one area and pick you up downstream in another area.
