The Other Side of Night | Smaex x Apollonia

The Other Side of Night | Smæx × Apollonia This song started with one idea and two writers. Smæx and I each wrote our own interpretation of The Other Side of Night separately. We agreed we’d write our versions, bring them back to each other, and see what worked. What neither of us expected was just how naturally our ideas would fit together. My writing leaned into the imagery: the empty room, dark windows, headlights crossing the ceiling, and someone wondering who else might still be awake. Smæx brought his own emotional perspective and German writing into that same world. And somehow, the pieces just belonged together. Two writing styles. Two languages. Two people who somehow found themselves writing toward the same feeling without having seen what the other had written. When we finally put the pieces together, they fit almost effortlessly. The English and German eventually begin weaving through each other until the two perspectives become one. Then Smæx took those words and created a production that honestly left me speechless. He understood what I was hearing and feeling in this song in a way I could never have explained in a prompt. This collaboration means more to me than I can really put into a description. I’m incredibly grateful that our paths crossed, that we got to create this together, and that I now get to share his incredible talent with people who may be hearing him for the first time. Some songs are releases. Some become little pieces of your history and your heart. This one is the latter. 🖤 Smæx × Apollonia The Other Side of Night #TheOtherSideOfNight #Smaex #Apollonia #MusicCollaboration #Songwriting #OriginalMusic #BilingualMusic #EnglishGerman #IndependentMusic #CinematicMusic
