📜 DESCRIPTION
A Kannada movie made me ask a strange question…
Were there really people in India who were known as “cannibals”?
But this video is NOT a movie review.
Instead, we go beyond the film and investigate the real story behind the idea of “cannibal tribes” — the old traveller accounts, colonial descriptions, the famous cannibalism myth surrounding the Andaman Islanders, and what anthropology and historical evidence actually tell us.
Some stories were documented.
Some remain disputed.
And some may have become “facts” simply because they were repeated for generations.
From “cannibal” to “savage”, how did these labels become attached to unfamiliar communities?
And when we hear a frightening story about a people we've never met, perhaps the most important questions are:
Who said it?
When was it written?
And what is the evidence?
This is not a story about proving that “cannibal tribes” existed.
It is a story about how history, fear, rumours and evidence can become mixed together.
