TER is a train and coach service operated by SNCF and regional governments across France. Transports Express Régionaux (TER, pronounced TEH-uh-AIR) are France's regional train systems for each part of the country. Slower than TGV high-speed trains or Intercité national trains, with more stops, TER trains are still efficient ways of traveling between the major cities and smaller cities and towns in each region. For long-distance trips, you may find yourself first on a TGV train or Intercité train first, then transferring to a TER train to reach your destination.
