Shared Lives - the family-based way of supporting adults

Shared Lives sees host families provide home and community-based care for vulnerable adults in need of support. The Shared Lives scheme supports people with a range of needs, such as learning disabilities, dementia and poor mental health. It matches people with carers who share their own home and family life with them. It’s an approach that has been shown to offer more personalised care, as well as keeping people independent.
