Here’s a video of a genuine ride on the METRO Red Line going to Apple Valley and the Mall of America. This is Minnesota’s very first Bus Rapid Transit Highway Line as part of the METRO System. The Bus in the video is a 2021 Gillig BRT Plus. Since Metro Transit has been operating the Red Line since December 2025, the Red Line has been seen more compared to the last 3 eras like the MVTA Era, the Temporary wrapped regular route Metro Transit Gillig bus era and the Transdev era. With Metro Transit’s operation of the Red Line, now the entire BRT Plus fleet of 8000’s numbers cross paths between the Red and A Lines. Sometimes buses from the Red Line and the A Line run on the Orange Line even though it uses New Flyer XD60’s. I’ve been on a 2021 Red Line Bus on the Orange Line a few times which includes my recent upload and I’m still aiming for a video of me riding a Red Line bus on the A Line. I did manage to ride an A Line bus on the D Line recently which passenger service can get crowded having a 40 foot bus on a high frequency arterial BRT Line, I kinda also hope to ride one of these Red Line buses on the D Line someday depending how things work since the D Line buses are the same year as the Orange Line and Red Line buses. Both trips were filmed the same day because it was a round trip to Apple Valley and back to Mall of America. I hope you enjoy the ride!

P.S Be on the lookout for an Not of Service METRO XD60 passing by which from what I know came from the Orange Line. Sometimes Buses used for the Orange Line go through Highway 77 in between routes from Burnsville. I’m unsure what the year of the bus is since there’ve been more XD60’s than ever before and I hope someday I get to ride a New Flyer XD60 on the Red Line again just like 2022. I’ve rode a 2021 Orange Line bus once on the Red Line and I’ll do it again if it so happens to be one of those again and hopefully one of the original C Line buses from 2018 or possibly one of the newer 2024 buses seen on the Gold and B Lines or an E Line bus from 2025 as well as the Expansion buses that are 8220-8239. I’ll be fine with either.
