My 2011 BMW 323i had a seized engine, and I finally found the problem! The culprit? STUCK ROD BEARINGS!
In this video, I take you through the process of diagnosing and repairing my seized BMW N52 engine. I show how I removed the stuck rod bearing from the crankshaft, what I found during the teardown, and how I'm preparing to install a brand-new rod bearing to bring this engine back to life. I found a hack how to fix my own engine sees and how to sand the crank journal myself.
This is part of my BMW E90 engine rebuild journey, where I'm trying to save this engine instead of replacing it.
🔧 In this video:
Diagnosing a seized BMW N52 engine
Finding the cause of the seized engine
Removing a stuck rod bearing
Inspecting the crankshaft journal
Preparing for new rod bearing installation
Working on a 2011 BMW 323i E90
Can this BMW engine be saved? Follow along as I work through the rebuild!
If you're working on a BMW N52 engine, dealing with a seized engine, or tackling a rod bearing replacement, hopefully this video helps you with your project.
