[HD] "The Coatesville Local" H84 Along The Dale Secondary & Amtrak

On the morning of Tuesday, August 30, 2016 we got up bright and early to intercept and chase Norfolk Southern local H84. H84 is a Monday-Friday local that runs between Abrams Yard to Coatesville PA. This train's primary purpose is to serve the East Penn & Brandywine River Valley Railroad's. Also this train is used to serve the Lukens Steel Mill in Coatesville. H84 does various shove moves which requires a caboose. The caboose the H84 uses still has Conrail reporting marks and is a N21 class caboose. The train runs out of Abrams with then comes up to CP-Norris where the train shoves with the caboose first down the Morrisville Connecting Track. Then once H84 gets to CP-King they get a Track Authority from CP-King to CP-Glen which is on the opposite end of the Dale Secondary. Since the Dale Secondary has no signals H84 has to get a Track Authority from Mainline Dispatch. Once at CP-Glen they call Amtrak for permission onto the Keystone Line where they will run from CP-Glen to W&N Junction. Once at W&N Junction H84 shoves down a very steep hill with the caboose first all the way down into the valley. Once the head end clears the switch they call the BVRY for permission into Coatesville. Once they get permission they head into Coatesville and do their work. Sadly due some major traffic problems on I-76 we could not intercept them at either Abrams Yard or Norristown station. So we headed straight for King Of Prussia and that is where we began to chase them! So sit back, relax & enjoy! As always Thanks for Watching!
