In March 2022, a search vehicle illuminated a name on a shipwreck 3,008 meters beneath the Weddell Sea: ENDURANCE.
More than a century earlier, Antarctic ice had crushed Ernest Shackleton's ship. Twenty-eight men were left with tents, supplies, and three small boats. What followed was an extraordinary struggle across drifting ice, open ocean, and the mountains of South Georgia.
This illustrated documentary follows the loss of Endurance, the voyage of the James Caird, the rescue aboard Yelcho, and the search that finally brought the ship back into view.
