(sorry for the small time jump in there, one song took the whole video down so had to cut it, hope you enjoy the rest of the mix!)
big hugs to all of you, wishing every single person here goodness and health and safety and love, thank you for being here! and biggest thank you to @hintercompany for opening up your home to us and facilitating a space of creativity, it's so special.
there's so many aspects of vinyl that i love, from the tactile and analog experience, the richness of the sound, the feeling that there is a moment captured in the wax, so so cool. butttt the thing that i think i love the most about vinyl is the way we can so intentionally share music. when friends are over and i can put a record on, talk about it a bit, pass the sleeve around, and we just listen through. i dont feel like that happens much with streamed music anymore, and that communal sense of sharing something you love with others is such a special aspect of music that i value so much. i think we could really use a new common space of music sharing. like back in the day if you wanted to show someone a song you'd just have to learn how to play it and show that person, soooo cool, so intentional, you probably really captured their attention. then, vinyl came around and you could buy someone a record or your friends would all come over to listen to it together, another deeply present experience. thennn the mixtape era, wow what a feeling it would be to get a mixtape from a crush, all the work that takes, i'd feel so loved while listening to those songs. thennnnn jump to streaming and we even had a real golden era (that feels like its in its final days) which was making playlists for people, also such a beautiful thing, i loveeee making people playlists. but recently it feels like there's so many robots on the internet it all just feels so much less human, so the past few years my main way of having the experience of sharing music has been through vinyl when people come over. so just wanna say im super grateful i get to share these mixes with all of you and i make these allll out of love for all of you cause you are all so dope and i deeply appreciate you all !!!!!
