Medi-Cal is changing—and a lot of people don't know what's coming. In this video, I'm breaking down the major changes happening in 2026 and 2027 so you can stay covered and informed. Here's what's changing: 🛂 Enrollment Freeze (Jan 1, 2026) — Some adults without satisfactory immigration status can no longer enroll in full-scope Medi-Cal. Restricted coverage is still available. 💰 Asset Limits Return (Jan 1, 2026) — Seniors and people with disabilities now have a $130,000 asset limit for one person, plus $65,000 per additional household member. 💼 Work Requirements (Jan 1, 2027) — Adults 19–64 without young children must meet work, school, or volunteer requirements to keep coverage. 📋 Six-Month Renewals (Jan 1, 2027) — Some adults will need to renew twice a year instead of once. 💵 Premiums (Jul 1, 2027) — Certain adults without satisfactory immigration status will pay a monthly premium to keep full-scope coverage.
