Between IH-610 West Loop and Texas State Highway 99 Grand Parkway, there is the Katy Tollway (or Katy Managed Lane) and Katy Diamond Lanes (or Katy HOV Lanes). The tollway rate depends on the time of the day (see HCTRA Katy Managed Lane website for more details). During the weekdays (between 5-11 a.m. and 2 - 8 p.m.), carpool (2 ore more passengers) can travel on the Katy Managed Lane for free. The second segment after Texas Highway 6 is managed by the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO). METRO Katy Diamond Lanes is only for carpool (or high occupancy vehicles; HOV) two or more passengers only. This lane is open everyday (24 hours). The third segment near Downtown Houston is the Central Business District (CBD) HOV Ramp that is managed by METRO. CBD Ramp is only for carpool (or high occupancy vehicles; HOV) two or more passengers only. This lane is open everyday (24 hours).
