NHPC BASKETING | CABANATUAN N.E. MIDTOSS (09/15/ 2026)

In this video, we are basketing our pigeon warriors for the Club Mid-Toss Training, which will be conducted the following day. Traditionally, the Club conducts a Mid-Toss every Wednesday, three days before the scheduled Sunday Derby Lap. The birds are released from a location identified as the “breaking point” to give them additional preparation before the next race. Joining the Club Mid-Toss is not compulsory. Some fanciers prefer to do their own self-toss, while others choose to skip the mid-toss and give their birds additional time to rest and recover. For our warriors, I decided to join this Club Mid-Toss because I believe the additional training can help further develop their endurance, confidence, and homing instinct as they prepare for the biggest challenge ahead—the 6-Lap Derby Proper. During this basketing, I also took the opportunity to clarify some of the Derby Proper mechanics with the club coordinator, so that I can have a better understanding of the rules and procedures and, at the same time, share this information with our viewers. The Derby Proper officially starts on September 20, 2026, with one lap conducted every Sunday. After completing all six (6) laps, the overall winner of the derby will be determined. This is another important step in preparing our warriors. The race is getting closer, and every decision we make now could make a difference.
