#Dangote #DangoteRefinery #NigeriaIPO On 12 October 2026, Nigeria's SEC gave Africa's largest share sale two more weeks. The next day, the Dangote refinery reported a $4.73 billion profit for the first nine months of 2026 and $6.69 billion in cash. In 2025 it lost $476 million. The public offer sells 3.3% of the company to raise about $1.6 billion. This episode goes through the IPO prospectus and the refinery's latest results: why a $20 billion plant lost money while it ramped up, how full capacity and the war in Iran turned that into a 24.56% EBITDA margin, and what 525 naira a share buys. It covers who keeps what (Aliko Dangote goes from 87.27% to about 84.34%), the 20% stake NNPC agreed to and never paid for, the $14.27 billion expansion the IPO covers only about 11% of, and the crude supply risk the prospectus itself warns about. This is a business story, not investment advice.
