I bought my dream amp imported from the USA to the UK! Handwired and built by Jason Tarulli the front of house engineer for The Black Keys. This is not sponsored and I will not benefit but if you want this amp you can get in touch with Jason on instagram via handle - sirquitenicely

This guitar amplifier is based on the classic Fender 5E3 circuit or Tweed Deluxe amp as it's commonly known from the 1950s. It was one of the original rock 'n' roll guitar amps! It adds a twist on the amp circuit by adding a negative feedback switch that helps tame the ragged and loose low end/bass response of a tweed deluxe style amp. This allows it more versatility as a clean amp. It has the classic normal and bright channels with two inputs which you can jumper and blend together. For such a simple circuit it's very versatile and the amps controls are very interactive with each other! It uses a Jupiter 12 inch speaker.
I didn't buy it for the clean tone though, I bought it for the raw edge of break blues rock tone that sounds almost like a fuzz pedal when the amp is pushed hard.
The Black Keys front man Dan Auerbach is using these alongside some touring musicians in the band and they sound absolutely great! Im going to do my best to cover as many of dans tones from the early albums through to the current albums and everything in between.
I used my Danelectro Pro and DC59 NOS through out as well as a Fender Silver Series Strat stock from the early 90s. For a spring reverb and a slap back which Dan is famous for I used the Line 6 Verbzilla and Echo Park which The Black Keys used on Brothers in the studio. I also used my RSK Effects Tone Bender fuzz and a modded Electroharmonix Big Muffin for those early tones.
Signal chain is Guitar - Pedals - Amp - SM57 - Clarett 4Pre - Logic
The amp was attenuated slightly as I was recording at home but it was still loud! I have to say im used to recording with amp sims at home but this just blew them out of the water. It sounds so 3D! Don't get me wrong I still love amp sims but the real deal pushing air is something else!
