How to Replace Brake Master Cylinder - A Step by Step Guide and How They Work

This video shows how to replace a master cylinder on my General Motors 2004 Cadillac Deville after my brake pedal was going to the floor. To put it simply, one day while driving home from work, my brake pedal seemed as if it was traveling further in order to successfully apply the brakes. I later realized that I needed to replace my master cylinder because my brake lines didn’t seem to have a leak and therefore there had to a be a malfunction with the master cylinder. I simply ordered a new one from Amazon (after verifying it was a fit for my Cadillac) and once it came in the mail, I made this video showcasing: removing the old one and installing the new one. The process was very simple as it only took removing the two mounting bolts and also removing the front brake line and the rear brake line. If yourself having to push the brake pedal all the way to the floor to stop, you most likely have a brake line leak or a master cylinder problem. In the video, I explain how the master cylinder works and even somewhat show how to bleed the master cylinder. Of course, I’ve included descriptions for everything I used because I know how helpful that is for me when I’m watching how to videos.
