This video is a little different from my usual building content. I wanted to take you with me to my rural home in Zimbabwe and show you a part of my life that I don’t normally share on the channel. We spend a few days at my ancestral home near West Nicholson, surrounded by mountains, livestock, fields and family history. In this episode, I take you around the homestead, show you the cattle, goats and donkeys, talk about some of my childhood memories, visit where members of my family are laid to rest, and share a little bit about what this land means to me. We also do a borehole capacity test on a 120-metre borehole, watch the guys ploughing with donkeys, talk about some of the challenges of keeping livestock in rural Zimbabwe, and take a walk through the surrounding area to find phone signal. There’s also a little bit of farming, some traditional knowledge, a few isiNdebele words and sayings, and plenty of the beautiful landscape that makes this place feel like home. This is where I come from, where a lot of my family history lives, and where I hope to spend a lot more time in the future. If you enjoy this kind of rural Zimbabwe content, let me know in the comments. I’d be happy to do more videos like this covering village life, farming, livestock, family stories and some of the plans I have for this place. If you enjoyed the video, please like, comment and subscribe. Catch you in the next one, peace.
