When a hoist's drive chain fails with the load suspended, the load still has to come down, ideally without anyone going to the hoist. The MotoSuiveur® is a safety-dedicated, independent drive chain for the drum. It arrests the suspended load and holds it: the load cannot turn its worm and worm wheel back.
The IRD (Integrated Recovery Drive) is a MotoSuiveur add-on built on that same drive chain. The crane operator runs it from the cab, on the MotoSuiveur's remote control box: the IRD engages, lowers the suspended load to the ground and releases. Engagement and disengagement are purely mechanical. The arrest itself prepares the recovery, and two motors and a spring do the work, with no other actuator. This makes it suited to hoists in extreme heat, gas or radiation, where nobody should go to the hoist.
✅ Purely Mechanical Engagement: the recovery motor and a spring engage and release the drive, with no other actuator
✅ Remote Operation From the Cab: the recovery runs from the MotoSuiveur's remote control box
✅ Controlled Lowering: the load moves only while the recovery motor turns, all the way to the ground
✅ Made for Hostile Areas: suited to hoists in extreme heat, gas or radiation
