Victory Day, celebrated on May 9, marks the Soviet Union’s victory over Germany in 1945 during World War 2. The holiday honours the millions of soldiers and civilians who sacrificed their lives in what is known in Russia and several former Soviet countries as the Great Patriotic War. Today, Victory Day is remembered with military parades, memorial ceremonies and moments of remembrance for those affected by the war. In almost every Slavic country it is also celebrated. #slavic #sovietunion #ww2 #russian #russian #slavicmusic #ww2history #sovietmusic #soviet #russianmusic #russian #music #translation #song #warsongs #folk #history #historysong #historical #patrioticmusic #patrioticsong #patriotic #folkmusic #folksong #worldhistory #moscow #soviethistory
