What happens when students are given the opportunity to teach what they have learned? In this video, we share a special moment from a mathematics lesson at City Model Secondary School, a subsidiary of City Group of Schools, where one of our students takes the lead in teaching mathematics to her fellow students. This is more than a classroom recording. It is a glimpse into the power of peer learning, student participation, and creating opportunities for learners to build confidence by sharing knowledge. 🌟 MEET OUR STUDENT Her academic journey is an inspiring example of consistency and excellence. 🏆 She emerged as the best student in JSS1 and earned a scholarship for JSS2. 🏆 She maintained her excellent performance in JSS2 and earned a scholarship for JSS3. 🏆 In JSS3, she represented her school at a National Mathematics Competition, finishing among the top 100 participants nationwide. Her performance earned her an additional two-year scholarship. 🏆 Now in SS3, she continues to enjoy a scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence. Beyond academics, she serves as the school's Senior Prefect and has also been honoured with the title of Lolo of her set. 📚 ABOUT THE MATHEMATICS CLUB The Mathematics Club was established to encourage students to engage more actively with mathematics, practise problem-solving, develop confidence, and learn from one another. I believe that learning should go beyond memorising formulas and reproducing answers. Students should have opportunities to explain concepts, collaborate, ask questions, and become active participants in their education. Sometimes, one of the best ways to demonstrate understanding is to explain an idea to someone else! 💬 LET'S TALK!
