Dakota Ditcheva vs Malin Hermansson | DANGEROUS MMA MONSTER Brutally Destroyed "THE HERMINATOR"

🔥 DANGEROUS vs THE HERMINATOR — TWO NICKNAMES, ONE CAGE, AND A FIGHT THAT BELONGS TO THE RISE OF A FUTURE MMA CHAMPION. On March 25, 2023, Newcastle, England, hosted the inaugural PFL Europe event. In the co-main event at Vertu Motors Arena, undefeated British sensation Dakota “Dangerous” Ditcheva (7-0) faced Sweden’s experienced Malin “The Herminator” Hermansson (5-4). For Dakota, this was far more than another appearance in the cage. It was the beginning of a European tournament that could transform a promising prospect into a genuine championship contender. Dakota’s fighting story began long before her professional MMA debut. Growing up in Manchester, she was surrounded by combat sports. Her mother, Lisa Howarth, was a world champion in kickboxing, and Dakota developed the striking skills that would eventually make her one of the most talked-about young fighters in the PFL. A decorated Muay Thai athlete before turning fully to MMA, Ditcheva brought an unusually dangerous combination of speed, accuracy, body kicks, and knees into the flyweight division. By the time she stepped into the PFL Europe cage, the 24-year-old had already made a serious impression. In 2022, she stopped Hassna Jaber and Katherine Corogenes in the opening round of her first two PFL appearances. Seven professional MMA fights, seven victories, and a reputation for ending contests early. The nickname “Dangerous” was becoming less of a promotional slogan and more of a warning. But Malin Hermansson was not an inexperienced opponent brought in to admire a rising star. “The Herminator” had tested herself across several organizations, including Cage Warriors, Bellator, BRAVE CF, and Sweden’s Superior Challenge. Four of her five professional victories had come by decision, reflecting a fighter familiar with the patience, pressure, and discipline required to compete through full rounds. And here is a fascinating connection: in April 2018, Hermansson defeated fellow Swede Cornelia Holm by split decision at Cage Warriors 93. Years later, Holm would become another significant name in Dakota Ditcheva’s PFL Europe story. MMA careers rarely unfold in isolation; opponents, rivalries, and old results often connect in ways that only become clear with time. There was also a twist before the Newcastle event even began. Dakota had originally been scheduled to face Clara Ricignuolo, but an injury forced a change of opponent. Hermansson stepped in, bringing her experience and her own ambitions to one of the most important nights in the new promotion’s history. The setting raised the stakes. PFL Europe was launching a tournament format in which every performance mattered on the road toward the playoffs in Paris and the championship finals in Dublin. For Ditcheva, an unbeaten record was on the line. For Hermansson, the opportunity was clear: stand across from one of Britain’s hottest MMA prospects and prove that experience could disrupt the hype. This matchup also posed an intriguing technical question. Dakota was already feared for her explosive Muay Thai striking, especially at close range. Hermansson had spent years facing different fighting styles and knew what it meant to survive difficult exchanges. Would the contest be decided by the power and speed that made Ditcheva famous, or would another side of the MMA game become crucial? Looking back, the fight stands at an important point in Dakota’s career. Her journey would take her from the inaugural PFL Europe season to the 2023 European flyweight championship and then to a historic 2024 PFL world title victory over former UFC title challenger Taila Santos. But on this night in Newcastle, that future was still being written.
