Everyone Goes to Lofoten… Go Here Instead

In this episode I spend a few days exploring Senja, Kvaløya & Sommarøy, remote Arctic islands in northern Norway that are often overlooked in favour of Lofoten. Travelling in my self-built 4x4 MAN TGE campervan, I follow one of Norway’s most scenic routes through snow-covered mountains, coastal roads, tunnels, and ferry crossings between islands. Along way spot some ice climbers, find some incredible wild camping spots by the sea, and experience the reality of Arctic vanlife, from busy Northern Lights hotspots to freezing temperatures and the day-to-day challenges of living on the road this far north. I also spend time tracking and photographing wildlife, including white-tailed sea eagles and ptarmigan, while putting the van and setup to the test in proper winter conditions.
