This video shows the hemodynamic changes associated with the Branham sign following PDA occlusion using a K-Plug, a Korean-made vascular occlusion device. The patient was a 6-month-old Bichon diagnosed with both patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) and ventricular septal defect (VSD). Following deployment of the K-Plug for PDA occlusion, a transient change in heart rate and arterial blood pressure was observed on the anesthesia monitoring system, consistent with the Branham sign. The Branham sign, also known as the Nicoladoni-Branham sign, refers to a characteristic hemodynamic response following sudden occlusion of a significant arteriovenous shunt. In PDA closure, it may be observed as a transient increase in systemic arterial blood pressure accompanied by a decrease in heart rate.
