☕🎄 McDonough’s Hot Chocolate Social | A Night of Music, Community & Holiday Cheer Hot chocolate. S’mores. Live music. Holiday lights. And an entire community coming together to celebrate the season. ☕ We're heading back to December 14, 2024, when Name’s Blue Media had the opportunity to capture the City of McDonough’s Hot Chocolate Social at Alexander Park West. This was a free community celebration filled with music, winter treats, entertainment, and plenty of holiday spirit. 🎄 A winter night at Alexander Park Alexander Park West became a holiday gathering place for residents, families, friends, and visitors looking to enjoy an evening together in McDonough. And, of course, you can't have a Hot Chocolate Social without the hot chocolate! Guests would warm up with hot chocolate from Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee, enjoy s’mores and other winter festivities, and experience the park in a completely different atmosphere as the community settled in for an evening of holiday entertainment. 🎶 Live music filled the entire evening Music was a major part of the celebration, with a lineup of performers taking the stage throughout the night. Opening performances included: 🎤 Samuel and Venus Garcia 🎶 CYFYE 🎸 Scott Peacock The evening then continued with a headlining performance from Lydia Simonds, whose performance helped carry the celebration into the night. From the stage to the audience, Name’s Blue Media captured the energy of a community enjoying music, conversation, food, and the simple experience of spending a December evening together. 🤝 More than just Hot Chocolate Cheer At its heart, the Hot Chocolate Social is about community and camaraderie. Events such as this create an opportunity for our community to slow down during one of the busiest times of the year and simply spend time together. Neighbors get to meet neighbors. Families make new memories and spend time together. Local homegrown talent gets an opportunity to perform for their communities. Residents get to experience their community parks in new ways. And a public space becomes a signature destination for the entire community. That ability to bring people together is part of what has helped the Hot Chocolate Social grow into one of McDonough’s recognizable annual events. 🏙️ Building community through public events City records now identify the Hot Chocolate Social as one of McDonough’s major sponsored or partnered annual events, alongside other established community celebrations. And when you look back at nights like this one in 2024, it's easy to understand why. Public signature events contribute to a city's recognizable identity.
