You can check out Part 1 of this trek here... :)    • Part 1 - Independent 4 Day Trek to Ala Kul...   Day 2 Continued... After hiding out from the snowstorm in our tent for a couple of hours, the weather cleared and we were greeted with an amazing view of Ala Kul Lake! It was even more beautiful than we were expecting! We enjoyed our time at the lake that afternoon having happy hour and enjoying sunset. Day 3 After a very cold night on the lake, we woke up with another clear morning, packed up and made our way up to the top of the pass. The views from the top were incredible! The lake is a gorgeous turquoise blue color with layers and layers of mountains in the background. There is a view of a glacier off in the distance and even a small pond of glacial melt water that resembles a heart shape. We enjoyed the view for a bit before making the very steep descent down the backside of the pass. Once we made it down safely, we trekked a few more hours down to Altlyn Arashan where we stayed the night in a guesthouse in the village. It was nice to have a warm bed and home cooked meal on our final night! Day 4 On our last day, we visited the natural hot springs in Altlyn Arashan first thing in the morning before packing up and making the 15KM hike back to Ak Suu village where our trek ended. This is an incredibly beautiful trek and we can highly recommend adding it to your Kyrgyzstan itinerary!!
