Bhai Anantvir Singh LA | Prabh Milbe Ko Preet Man Laagi | AKJ Gurbani Shabad Kirtan

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗੀ ॥ Prabh Milbe Kao Preet Man Lagi / Prabh Milbe Ko Preet Man Laagi / Prabh Milabae Ko Preeth Man Laagee — The loving desire to meet my Beloved has arisen within my mind. This Shabad of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, in Raag Gauri, is written in the voice of a soul-bride yearning for union with the Divine. The Rahau line sets the tone: a longing so complete that she'd touch the feet of any Saint who could bring her to that meeting. The first stanza describes total surrender — mind, wealth, and even her own cleverness all given up — and a vow to follow wherever true discourse of God is spoken. The second stanza shifts to fulfillment: when the seeds of past good karma finally sprout, she meets the Lord Himself, described as both Enjoyer and Renunciate — present in all pleasures yet unattached to them. The closing line brings the whole journey to its point: meeting Him dispelled the darkness, and after countless lifetimes asleep in illusion, she has finally awakened. Ang 198, Raag Gauri, Guru Arjan Dev Ji (Fifth Mehl). Kirtan by Bhai Anantvir Singh, in the Akhand Kirtani Jatha (AKJ) tradition, based in Los Angeles. Also known as Prabh Milbe Ko Preet Man Laagi or Prabh Milabae Ko Preeth Man Laagee, this Shabad's imagery of longing and eventual union is one of Gurbani's most tender expressions of divine love. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SikhTunes - Your Spiritual Companion in Sikhism 🙏 Welcome to SikhTunes, your gateway to the timeless wisdom of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the rich heritage of Sikhism.
