Frauenstein during the 1848 March Revolutions (Märzrevolution) and preserved in the banned 1851 collection Republikanische Lieder. The 1848 revolutions saw everyday citizens—students, workers, and poets—take up arms across the German states, demanding civil liberties, a constitution, and national unity.
