This is the already the fifth? Wow, ya 5 already, in a series of collaboration posts with Autodesk/Autocad and the AutoCAD Blog where I am creating Tuesday Tip Articles to go along with some of my Tuesday Videos! You can check out the last one here (Align Tuesday Tip: https://blogs.autodesk.com/autocad/al...) In today's video, I talk about the uses and benefits of Remote Text in Autocad! Remote text, or RText is an often under used express tool that has been available for quite a while now, some parts of Rtexts functionality has been included and updated in Fields and you should definitely check out the video on fields linked above, but I wanted to share one of my favorite uses for Rtext in todays video/article. Remote text allows you to link or reference a text (.txt) document directly into your drawing. The object will then behave like a mix of an MText object and an xref. This allows you to make changes to typical/standard notes in a lot of drawings at the same time by simply updating the .txt file that they are referencing. Check out the video and article to learn more and let me know what you think!? If you want to keep up to date with new videos, be sure to subscribe to the channel and check out my blog, http://cadintentions.com. Oh and let me know what autocad tip, trick or tutorial you'd like to see in the next one down below!
