It takes time to build the work and it needs good focus too. This work helps the kids to develop concentration, coordination, and understanding of the order of the numbers. Why it is called 45 card Layout : We need 45 beads, 45 ten bars, 45 hundred squares, 45 thousand cubes to complete this work. That is why it is called 45 card layout. What is a Place Value Numerical value of a digit based on its position in a number. Each place has a value. One digit's value is 10 times bigger than the value of the place immediately to its right. The numbers 1-9 - 1 digit numbers The numbers 10-99 - 2 digit numbers. TENS are 10 times bigger that ONES. The numbers 100 - 999 - 3 digit numbers - HUNDREDs are 10 times bigger than TENs. so on. For example 516 6 has place Value ONES 1 has place value TENS. So the value of 1 in its TENS position is 10. 5 has place value HUNDREDS. So the value of 5 in its HUNDREDS position is 500.
