In July 2026, I returned to the Daliang Mountains of Sichuan, China, to experience the Yi Fire Festival in Puge County for the third time. The Yi Fire Festival is one of the most important traditional festivals of the Yi people and is recognized as part of China's national intangible cultural heritage. Every summer, thousands of people gather with traditional costumes, torches, music, and dancing to celebrate one of China's most spectacular cultural festivals. Beyond the celebration itself, this documentary explores everyday life in the Daliang Mountains, meeting local people, discovering authentic Yi culture, and sharing the unforgettable human connections that make every journey meaningful. I hope this film offers a deeper look into one of China's most fascinating ethnic traditions and the beauty of the people who keep it alive.
