I’m 15, Learning to Cook So My Grandma Can Rest

Hi everyone, I'm Kaka, a 15-year-old girl living in China. Lately, I've been feeling like I'm growing up, and I want to do more to help my family. I already help with sweeping, mopping, and laundry, but there's one thing I still need to learn — cooking! My dad works two jobs to support our family, and my grandma has been taking care of me and my younger brother for years. My grandparents are getting older, but they still work hard every day. So today, Grandma is teaching me how to cook. We went shopping for ingredients, spent just 7 yuan (about $1), and made a simple homemade meal together. I'm still a beginner, and there's a lot I need to learn. But I hope that one day, I'll be able to cook for my family on my own and give Grandma a little more time to rest.
