Creating from the Soul: Javier Mendoza & Dr. Tom Wagner | Sunday Morning Café

What happens when music, storytelling, creativity, and resilience come together? We're finding out with Javier Mendoza (aka Hobo Cane) and Dr. Tom Wagner! Logan Janis of Mostly Superheroes sits down with St. Louis-connected singer-songwriter Javier Mendoza and Dr. Tom Wagner, founder of Sunday Morning Café, for a special conversation ahead of their November 8 event, Creating from the Soul: A Conversation in Story & Song. Javier has spent more than 25 years building an independent music career, sharing soulful roots music and original songs shaped by his experiences, identity, and personal journey. Now based in Nashville, Javier still considers St. Louis home and regularly returns to perform. In this conversation, Javier discusses his musical journey, the relationship between his life and his songwriting, vulnerability as an independent musician, and the power of music to bring people together. We also catch up with Dr. Tom Wagner, a resilience researcher and licensed therapist with more than 30 years of experience. Tom shares his excitement about exploring the deeper stories behind Javier's music and how creativity, personal experiences, and resilience connect.
