F*CK THE REVOLUTION! Tour:    • The Joshua Tree Tour (1987)   | Leg 3: North America Date: 8th November 1987 Venue: McNichols Sports Arena City: Denver, Colorado, USA Used recording(s): • Audience recording (A): Master Analog Tape ► CDR | Conversion: CDR ► EAC V0.9 Beta4 (tested & secure, EAC logs included) ► Wav ► Mkwact 0.9f ► SHN Remastered by an unknown user Just like the first night, Phil Joanou filmed the second night in Denver with the intention to use the black and white footage in the upcoming "Rattle and Hum" movie alongside its album. As the band ended up feeling much happier with their performance tonight, only audio and video from this show was used on the final release. The three following songs were all released both on the album and the movie: "Helter Skelter", "Pride (In the Name of Love)" and "Silver and Gold" whereas the movie version included these and the following songs: "Sunday Bloody Sunday", "Exit", "In God's Country" and "Bad". As for the performance, I couldn't agree more with the band: It is absolutely stellar in every meaning of the word. Bono's voice sounds even stronger than last night, the band are tigther and with more anger in their playing. As for the anger that is lingering in some performances tonight, most notably in one of the most stunning performances of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" ever, there is a good reason for that: Only hours before this show took place, an IRA bomb killed eleven civilians at a Remembrance Day ceremony in the Northern Irish town of Enniskillen, angering the pacifistic group to great lengths: During the song, Bono lashes out through a furious rant, condemning the violence and the revolution, culminating in the famous "Fuck the revolution!" speech and the angriest "NO MORE!" segment on recording. The performance and how emotional it turned out led to the song being dropped on the "Lovetown" Tour and also further led to the band becoming a target of the IRA. 00:00:00 - 01.
