Gamers Say The Darndest Things: "Metroidvania"

The gaming community, as a whole, is excellent. Yes, I know there's always some work to do, but by and large there's a welcoming, wholesome community willing to support themselves and others (especially through charity work!) whenever the need arises. One thing we COULD be doing better, is finding ways to describe the things we love - especially to those who may not be as familiar with them. One of our biggest pet peeves in the gaming space is the name-mashing genre creation machine that seems to run on lack of creativity, and it all started with the accursed "Metroidvania". DISCLAIMER: We're all cool if we're playing and talking about videogames, no matter what you call the genre - so even though I may express strong opinions throughout the video, your usage of the term will never impact my opinion of you as a person or gamer. Cool?
