Ready to learn your first aria?

Learning "O cessate di piagarmi" for an audition or your first voice lesson? I'll walk you through it line by line, from speaking the text to the full performance. Hi, I'm Stephanie, an opera singer with over 20 years of performing and teaching experience. We're coming into audition season, and this Scarlatti arietta from the 24 Italian Songs and Arias book is one of the most-assigned first pieces for classical singers. In this video I show you exactly how I learn it: Speaking the text first, before singing a note Reading the dynamics in the score (that "p" matters!) Why the words repeat, and how to use that for emotion Building the crescendo in "Luci ingrate" Putting it all together, with a full performance at the end Sing along with the "Your turn" pauses. I'll wait for you. 📖 TEXT & TRANSLATION O cessate di piagarmi, o lasciatemi morir! Oh, stop wounding me, or let me die!
