Rebollo called the decision the “final nail in the coffin,” accusing the label of “ill intent” despite band members’ objections. The track, originally intended to feature Parton’s vocals, will now be released without her, with proceeds benefiting her Imagination Library. Rebollo cited broader issues with label decisions and the mental toll of fan backlash as reasons for leaving. The controversy echoes a similar 2018 situation when the band released a Cranberries cover after Dolores O’Riordan’s death.
