Kilembe mines redevelopment officially begins - OverUSD 200 million set for rehabilitation

Government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, has officially handed over full possession, access, and rights to the assets of Kilembe Copper Mines in Kasese District to its new developers. The consortium comprising Sarrai Group, Nile Fibreboard, and the Uganda National Mining Company Limited (UNMC) now has the green light to commence the long-awaited rehabilitation of the defunct copper mines.
