Thank You, Healthcare Workers — Trinity Davis

To the healthcare workers. The caregivers. The lovers. I want to thank you — not for show, not for publicity. Because it's true, and true things deserve to be said out loud. You're the ones out there in the middle of the rainstorm, and you're the only one holding the umbrella. And it isn't over you. It's over somebody else. You're the only candle in the dark. And the dark never thanks you for burning. You get scorned by the very people you're keeping alive. Told you're going to be treated like a stupid child — for trying to take care of them. Manipulated by minds sharper than anyone gives them credit for. Called a liar. And you come back the next morning, cool and steady, and you do it all again. Nobody sees it. There's no crowd for the 3 AM wake-ups. No applause for answering cruelty with kindness, day after day after day. People argue about the hardest job in the world. They're wrong. The hardest job belongs to the caregivers. The lovers. Those who love, and are persecuted by the ones they take care of — and love them anyway. I know, because I live it. My wife lives it. She's not even blood to the woman we're caring for, and she'd do it all again tomorrow. So thank you. For holding the umbrella. For being the candle. For loving through the persecution. Somebody sees you. I do. — Trinity Dream Empire: https://dream-empire.org #DreamEmpire #HealthcareWorkers #Caregivers #ThankYou
