I don’t have all the answers, many things I don’t know But I believe He has a master plan God is our Father and He is in control Despite my questions, some things I understand I see God… in the stars above In a baby’s smile, in a mother’s love I hear God… in the song of a bird In a child’s laugh, in a friendly word I feel God… in the gentle breeze In a silent prayer from on my knees I know God… and God knows me God is love, if we seek Him we will find God is truth, His ways are higher than our own God is good, He is gracious and kind Through our suffering we are never alone Why does a loving God allow evil in this world? Perhaps some mysteries we’ll never know But with the bad there is also so much good If we trust Him, He will lead us where to go I see God… in a helping hand In an act of forgiveness, in an honest man I hear God… in the waves of the sea In nature’s voices, earth’s pure harmony I feel God… in a gentle touch In acts of kindness that mean so much I know God… and God knows me He knows my sadness! He knows my strife! He knows my pain and suffering I’ve carried my whole life He knows my weakness! He knows my shame! He knows the suffering I’ve caused, mistakes where I’m to blame! Yes, this world’s not perfect, but that’s how it’s meant to be. I’m glad God allows broken things. It means He allows me! And because God is mercy, He can make our weakness strong He will turn this imperfect world to a place where all of us belong! If God is love, why is there so much hate? If God is truth, why so much confusion? If God is good, why is there so much pain? Is God only an illusion? No! God is our loving Father and wants us to learn and grow Perhaps all the pain we feel is to teach us things we need to know Can joy exist without sorrow? Or pleasure without pain? Can we find the silver lining in every drop of rain? I see God… in an outstretched arm In communities united after a storm I hear God… in a grandfather’s cry In his parting wisdom before he dies I feel God… in a quiet place When I’m on my knees and feel His embrace I know God… and God knows me Yes!
