How to Turn Your Loved One with the Lunderg Bed Sore Pillow

Step 1 - TALK Get your patient or loved one’s full participation. Simple encouragement works wonders! Step 2 - ROLL Make sure the patient or loved one is turned as much as possible to one side. Depending on their ability to assist, you might have to help them. To make things easier, we recommend you use the Lunderg Bed assist Rail if you are not using a Hospital bed. Step 3 - RIGHT POSITION Your hands should be on the backside of the pillow while the curved side faces the patient or loved one. Step 4 - PLACE THE PILLOW Using the curved side, we place one end under the shoulder blade and the other end under the buttocks. Step 5 - RECTIFY IF NEEDED Now is the time to make sure you are avoiding the sacrum or sore area. Step 6 - FINAL ROLL Roll back the patient or loved one onto the cushion. The non-slip pillowcase will prevent slipping, but it is recommended to hold the cushion!
