Best Things to Do in Winnipeg in 24 hours | Is It Worth Visiting?

In this week’s travel episode, we spend 24 hours exploring the vibrant city of Winnipeg, Manitoba! From world-class museums and stunning architecture to amazing food and unforgettable wildlife, Winnipeg completely surprised us. We kick things off at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights—the only national museum in Canada located outside of Ottawa. Not only is it incredibly powerful and informative, but the architecture alone makes it a must-visit. Next, we grab lunch at the bustling Forks Market before heading across the river to the historic Saint Boniface neighbourhood, the largest French-speaking community in Western Canada. There, we visit the beautiful Saint Boniface Cathedral and pay our respects at the tomb of Louis Riel. We also stop by the Manitoba Legislative Building, where you can take guided tours year-round, before heading to one of Winnipeg’s newest attractions—The Leaf. This incredible attraction features four indoor biospheres and is easily one of the coolest spots in the city. To wrap up the day, we enjoy delicious (and affordable!) tacos at MC Market and finish with a classic Winnipeg treat—ice cream from BDI. The next morning, we visit Assiniboine Park Zoo to see some amazing Arctic animals up close—an unforgettable experience! Winnipeg is an underrated gem and a perfect 2–3 day stop on a cross-Canada road trip.
