Small Scale Silage

Feeding out some of our silage/hayledge we made last summer on the farm. We used a ratio of 2.5 gal straight molasses to 60 gal of packed grass. No major equipment needed, other than a mower/grass catcher. Very important to pack the grass tight as you go, as an anaerobic environment is needed to ferment and preserve the material. We had a little white mold on top when I opened the container but a quick skim put me down in the good stuff!
