PETER OBI STORMS ABUJA CASSAVA MARKET! Hear What Rural Women Told Him 😳 Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate **Peter Obi has visited cassava processors and market women in Kwali Area Council, Abuja**, as part of activities marking the International Day of Rural Women on October 15. During the visit to the Sheda and Sheda Galadima market communities, Obi interacted with members of the Akpu Sellers Association and listened to concerns over poor water supply, low patronage, and the daily challenges facing rural women and small-scale traders. The visit has drawn attention to the importance of grassroots engagement, rural development, women's economic empowerment, and practical support for farmers and market women. Obi reportedly pledged support aimed at helping the women improve their livelihoods and move out of poverty. The visit comes amid broader calls for increased investment in rural women's access to land, finance, infrastructure, and markets, including advocacy by Nigeria's First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu. But what does this visit mean for ordinary Nigerians, and will grassroots engagement become a defining issue ahead of the 2027 elections? *Watch the full report and share your thoughts in the comments.* Do you see this kind of direct engagement with market women and farmers as meaningful leadership, or as part of the usual political activities ahead of 2027?
