Gene Action and its Types

This lecture video discusses the action of genes, how they can be detected from the phenotype, and the types of gene action. In animals and other diploid organisms, genes have to be in the diploid phase in order for a phenotype for a particular trait be expressed. There are two general types of gene action, namely (a) additive and (b) non-additive gene action. The non-additive gene action is further classified into two which include the dominance gene action and epistasis or interaction.
