#busoni #shigerukawai #rukayokoyama #classicalmusic Liszt: Grandes études de Paganini, S. 141R. 3b No. 2 “Octave” in E-flat major [SK-EX] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pianist : Yokoyama Ruka Born in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, Ruka Yokoyama graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts Music High School, affiliated with the Faculty of Music, and subsequently completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts. During his studies, he was awarded the Acanthus Music Prize, the Doseikai Award, and the Geidai Klavier Prize. Since 2019, he has been studying at the University of Music and Theatre Munich, where he completed his Master’s program in 2022 and the Meisterklasse in 2025. He is currently enrolled in the fortepiano program at the same institution. His accolades include First Prize at the 2025 Munich Piano Competition and a Special Prize as a semi-finalist at the Euregio Piano Award (Germany). He also received First Prize and the Moonlight Prize at the 18th Fuppel Tosu Piano Competition, First Prize at the 29th Himes Competition, and was a finalist at the 18th Tokyo Music Competition. In 2016, he was selected as a soloist for the Geidai Morning Concert, performing with the Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Kazufumi Yamashita. In 2017, he performed with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra conducted by Shigeo Genda as part of the Japan Federation of Musicians’ “Emerging Artists Development Project.” He has also appeared with numerous orchestras, including the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra. He was awarded the top prize at the 21st Liszt Academy Seminar and gave a solo recital at the Budapest Spring Festival in 2019. He has been a scholarship recipient of the Aoyama Music Foundation (2017), the Meiji Yasuda Quality of Life Foundation Overseas Music Study Program (2020), and the Ezaki Scholarship (2020). He has studied with Masako Kusunoki, Hisako Nakayama, Shigeru Maruyama, Katsumi Ueda, and Susumu Aoyagi.
