What does it look like to stand firm when everything around us feels like it is crumbling? Psalm 125 gives us a stunning picture of a God whose resume speaks for itself. As we walk through this five-verse psalm, we discover three transformative truths about who God is and what He does for those who trust in Him. He makes the movable immovable, He surrounds His people like mountains surrounding Jerusalem, and He leads evildoers away from the paths of the righteous. The prophet Habakkuk gives us one of the most raw and honest portraits of what it looks like to cling to these truths under pressure. Facing the total destruction of everything he knew, he arrived at a place where he could say that even if the fig tree does not blossom and the fields yield no food, he would still rejoice in the Lord. That is not blind optimism. That is a faith forged in the fires of theological certainty. This message challenges us to ask ourselves whether we are genuinely growing in our trust of God, and whether the hardships we face are driving us closer to Him or further away. The security we long for is not found in our circumstances but in the sovereign, righteous God who holds us in the palm of His hand.
