In Ephesians 2:11–3:13, Pastor Chris Meads explores how Jesus Christ reconciles people to God and to one another through his blood. From the middle school popular crowd to hostility between nations, people naturally draw circles around those they consider their own. Chris traces this fragmentation back to sin and shows how the gospel answers the question of how God’s blessing reaches the nations through Israel’s Messiah. Jesus himself is our peace. His cross reveals the same need for salvation in both Jew and Gentile, removing any basis for superiority within God’s family. Belonging to God comes through faith in Christ, rather than cultural identity or law keeping. People once separated by hostility become brothers and sisters, fellow citizens, and members of one household. Together, they receive equal access to the Father through the same Spirit. This shared access changes both our confidence before God and our relationships within the church. Using the picture of his children freely entering his office, Chris illustrates the assurance believers have in approaching God as Father. He also emphasizes that God builds his people together into his dwelling place, calling Christians to open their lives to one another and move beyond simply attending church. The message closes with a challenge for life in North Dallas: will we cross cultural boundaries to share Christ with the neighbors and coworkers already around us? As the nations come into our communities, Chris invites the church to embrace the discomfort of starting conversations, grow in sharing the gospel, and participate in God’s beautiful work of gathering one family in Christ.
