Fred Hampton was only 21 years old when he was killed, but his influence had already extended far beyond Chicago.
As a leader in the Illinois Black Panther Party, Hampton helped organize free community programs, political education, and the original Rainbow Coalition an alliance that united Black, Latino, and poor white communities around shared struggles.
This documentary examines Fred Hampton’s rise, the FBI’s COINTELPRO campaign, the informant who infiltrated his organization, and the police raid that ended his life on December 4, 1969.
Why was such a young organizer considered such a serious threat and why does his message remain relevant today?
